Made by Laura’s Loom

The Garsdale Scarf is woven from Laura’s yarn — the Bluefaced Leicester 14. With its semi-lustrous qualities, this wool can be spun into the finest of threads and woven into beautiful woollen cloth. This scarf is no exception. Lightweight but remarkably warm, the Garsdale Scarf is generously wide and long and can be worn in a variety of ways.
Our yarn is spun from the fleece of sheep farmed in the Yorkshire Dales and Cumbria, including from two farms in beautiful Garsdale. A long narrow dale, Garsdale runs between the two market towns of Sedbergh and Hawes. At its easternmost end is Garsdale Station on the spectacular Settle-Carlisle railway. To the north is Baugh Fell, rising to a height of 678m and the source of the Clough river which once powered Farfield Mill’s mighty turbine.

This lovely scarf is available in 7 serene colours, all inspired by the muted tones of moorland, northern skies and the occasional splash of astonishingly bright colour in the local wildflowers.
